The Hardiness Resilience Gauge™ (HRG™) is a tool that provides information on each individual's level of resilience and their ability to cope with stress and/or unexpected situations. Studies on the subject suggest the protective nature of resilience, in that individuals with higher levels of resilience have been found to be less likely to experience the negative effects of stress on health and performance. Based on over 30 years of research and development, the HRG is used across various professional groups, including organisational leaders, military personnel, police officers, healthcare professionals, and athletes.
The assessment provides information on the total resilience score and the three areas that predict how resilient an individual will be:
The HRG can be applied in a variety of contexts with the aim of measuring an individual's ability to cope effectively with stress.
When leaders have insight into their resilience, they tend to respond more effectively to stress and to changes in team dynamics.
Teams that understand their resilience profiles form more cohesive units and are better equipped to cope with change and stress.
The HRG can be used as a measure of the effectiveness of resilience development programmes associated with high-stress occupations, such as military personnel, police forces and healthcare professionals.
The HRG can be applied to help prepare athletes for stressful situations, as well as to predict their likelihood of coping effectively with stress-inducing circumstances or change.
It is suitable for students aged 18 and over. It can be used to gather information regarding the resilience and wellbeing of students, enabling the creation of development programmes for them.
